Rugby World Cup in Toulouse

Toulouse is one of the most important centres for French rugby, the local students began playing the game in 1890 and the Stade Toulousain (the official Toulouse team) was founded in 1907.

The Rugby world cup matches will be played in the Stade Toulousain football stadium as it is larger than the rugby venue holding 37,000 fans. The ground was built for the 1998 soccer world cup but had to be renovated following structural damage caused by the AZF industrial disaster of 2001.

The stadium's first match of the world cup is between Japan and Fiji on 12 September 2007.

Ticket Information

Spectators are strongly encouraged to buy tickets only through official channels. Buying tickets from unauthorised vendors could lead to entry to a stadium being refused as the reselling of World Cup Rugby tickets is strictly forbidden.
