Taxes - again

We have received our first Taxe Fonciere bill. Our house is not yet habitable - the roof is off.

Must we pay the full amount or are there any discounts? If so, how do we claim them?

Thanks in advance for any information.

tax foncier is different than tax of habitation and yes you do have a recourse but only to a certain amount.. The amount has probably been already adjusted if you did not receive tax of habitation.

Your best bet is to go and ask your your local mairie for advice. They will know whether discounts are possible and how you can go about claiming them.
